Hello. I'm 12 about to be 13. And my Dentist said I have pretty straight teeth. But my thing is that my two teeth ( The teeth before, Were a vampire fangs will be.) Is a little cricked ( It's not huge but I can fit my tonuge through it if it is vertical) And because of the spacing between my teeth, It caused my other teeth next to it to be a little spaced out. But I'm about to be a teenager in less than 3 weeks and I feel the spacing is noticable. But then again my Dentist said I don't need braces. I have a few questions involving having naturally or artificially sharp canine teeth, or cuspids. First, is having every 4 (Not just the top 2 to make yourself look like a vampire) of your canine teeth sharpened at a dentist or any other place a real procedure? Resolved Question: Why do they ask those health questions at an oral surgeon dentist office?
They ask if we've had different things, including Chest Pain and Breathing Problems Yeah, I've had breathing problems when hay fever has clogged up my nasal passages part of the way. Yeah, I've had slight chest pain years ago, although no medical evaluation could determine what was wrong. But if I answer yes, then what difference in treatment will I receive? I mean, most in my shoes would probably mark down No for both of them. If I'm meticulous about it and answer yes, then what happens differently? Sometimes it helps to know WHY we're being asked something so that we can give the answer that they are looking for,rather than a subtle technicality. Even if you cannot answer completely for whatever reason, any info you can give might be helpful.

PLEASE HELP. So, something happened when my adult teeth were first developing and now I have white splotches on two of my front 4 teeth. It's called hypo-something or other, and it isn't reversible. Ibwas teased and questioned daily in elementary school and middle school because of the white spots. It seriously looks like I don't brush my teeth or something. You haven't been able to look it for the past two and a half years because I have braces, but I got them off this morning so you can look it now. It looks disgusting. In fact, when I got them off, the first thing my dad said when he saw was "Oh my god Rachel, what happened to your teeth? Ew." I'm so embarrassed. Open Question: Three of my teeth are loose but they are permanent teeth..?
So a couple of weeks after I got my braces off and started wearing my retainer, I noticed that one of my teeth is loose. I wear my retainer 24/7 so I don't know if that is affecting anything. But it's been about 3 months and the tooth is still loose. And I just noticed that my two front teeth are loose. I didn't receive kicked in the face at every so should I just leave it or tell my dentist? Very confused and little concerned..

and i had to have a filling taken out because apparently i needed it and there was decay underneath but i wasn't in any great pain.. they took the filling out and replaced it with another filling, but i don't feel as though they have done the work properly and it's a bit of a rushed job ( it only took 20 mins to fill ) i have drunk water and i have had this unbearable pain in the side of my mouth that shot up one side of my face.. does it sound like i should go back and receive the work redone?

Actually, I had a tiny chip in my front tooth, and i wanted it fixed. my new dentist said it would be difficult to do but when i asked if she COULD do it she said yes and so i let her. little did i know she filed away 1/4 of my tooth and then added so much filling it was too big and hurt when i closed my lips (from the pressure because it was protruding..) anyways i got it filed down and it's almost perfect! the problem is it still hurts when i close my mouth. My jaw has been popping and also occasionally locking on my right side. And recently I got a Night Guard from my dentist, seeing if that would fix the problem. Open Question: White gums after cutting gums?
Last night I clip my gums open badly, and tore a good amount off of one of the teeth, it did bleed silent a bit. I have been unable to receive into the dentist due to other appointments and lack of a baby sitter, so I have been rising my mouth about 10-15 times with warm sea salt water. The gums aren't as swollen anymore although the gum that was torn away from the tooth still hasn't grown back but the gums have turned back into the "normal" color, but where the object that clip my gums it is now white. Could this mean infection? Or healing? I have a MRI tomorrow for a knee injury I am unsure if they could answer any question about dental, but I am planning on going to the dentist this Friday.

Got 2 cavities filled almost 2 weeks ago now. I know I had my mouth open for a good time. It is normal to feel that effect (jaw pain and soreness) not immediately after the procedure, but a week more later? And how long would this soreness last? I saw my dentist today, he thinks its just soreness from having my mouth open for such a long, time and the pain will decrease gradually. My ortho seemed nice of lazy when he announced I could have my braces off. I didn't really remember how my bite was, having braces for two and a half years. I thought it was fine because it looked straight, so we OK'd taking them off. A few months later, I visit my family dentist. My family dentist is surprised at the results and questions why my teeth are not touching, and why I now have a big overbite. Here's the thing, I'm a 16 year old focused on getting the right grades and getting the career i want (teacher). The idea of sex completely terrifies me, it's not any insecurities about my body or "skills" or anything and it's not the fact the guy might leave after he's got what he wanted because i know that's a common thing i'll just have to accept it if it happens, because guys do do that.. It's pregnancy. Getting pregnant at the wrong time, like in the middle of my education or just with someone i wouldn't want to have a child with. One of my friends might be pregnant and i might be going with her to buy the pregnancy test tomorrow. I know she used protection because i saw her contraceptive pills and she told me she hadn't forgotten any of them. She really wants to be a dentist and be like at least 25 when she has a kid though, not 17. It scares me so much that sex can just ruin your life like that, so i think i'm going to be celibate. It seems the only way that has no risks and will give me some sort of security and control over my life. I was wondering if any of you had any of these fears? Is it possible to have moved a tooth with your tongue or by effectively sucking it back? Also, is this a problem that I should talk to my dentist about or is it normal?
Open Question: HELP! Celibacy out of fear of sex?
Here's the thing, I'm a 16 year old focused on getting the right grades and getting the career i want (teacher). The idea of sex completely terrifies me, it's not any insecurities about my body or "skills" or anything and it's not the fact the guy might leave after he's got what he wanted because i know that's a common thing i'll just have to accept it if it happens, because guys do do that.. It's pregnancy. Getting pregnant at the wrong time, like in the middle of my education or just with someone i wouldn't want to have a child with. One of my friends might be pregnant and i might be going with her to buy the pregnancy test tomorrow. I know she used protection because i saw her contraceptive pills and she told me she hadn't forgotten any of them. She really wants to be a dentist and be like at least 25 when she has a kid though, not 17. It scares me so much that sex can just ruin your life like that, so i think i'm going to be celibate. It seems the only way that has no risks and will give me some sort of security and control over my life. I was wondering if any of you had any of these fears? Have you ever had a pregnancy scare, whether it be yourself or your girlfriend? Are you a teen parent? Do you accept the consequences of sex everytime you have it? Open Question: How can I treat a sore under my tongue?
I ate popcorn last night. It seemed as though the popcorn scratched my tongue. I gargled with hot salt water. It didn't arrive out. This morning I looked and it seems like its a canker sore underneath my tongue. I made an appointment to dentist monday. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time? It hurts.
Open Question: Did i just dislocate my jaw?
Hey guys, today i was playing a game of basketball when i took a shot to the jaw. Since then i have been having trouble closing the right side of my jaw.The only way i am able to close it is if i am applying light pressure to it and closing it slowly. Does this require me to look a dentist or is it something that can heal overnight? Any advice that can reduce the pain? Thanks all
Open Question: is it bad that when i grow up i want to marry a succesful white man and have mixed kids?
ok well when i grow up i want to be a dentist or pediatritian...meaning that i like guys that actually have goals and a future. so i want to marry a white guy that is either a professional athlete (football, basketball, baseball) or a doctor, lawyer ,ceo (big bank person) or even a guy that will end up being this countries President or vice ( it would be awsome being the first interacial family in the white home). and i want to have 2 or 3 beautiful mixed kids with nice big curly hair. i mean is it bad that ive already set myself up a goal like that? AND NO I AM NOT A SELF HATER FOR THE LAST TIME i like black people...i just dont date black dudes. but is my goal unrealistic???
Open Question: Curious about becoming a dentist? Experiences?
I want to become a dentist and right now I'm choosing classes for my first year of high school! Any ideas on what electives to take and or which language??? I am going to internship and shadow at my dentist's office in the summers as well. Any stories, personal experiences, or help would be appreciated! Thanks!
